Mermaid by Chronoperates Mermaid by Chronoperates
A standard mermaid design so we could drop whatever location up top, this one just happens to be for Florida.

I'm pretty sure I have this on a magnet from the beach....I'll have to look tonight.  Beautiful design, which is what caught my eye!

Do you have any tutorials on how to do a bg like this? or any suggestions on how/where I can learn to do this myself? It's quite stunning. I love the art nouveau style.

I have even seen a few depictions of mermaids in Lake Superior/Minnesota!

Ha! I remember doing that text on there, it's always fun when someone finds my stuff online after seeing it in a store or vice versa. :)

This has the same format as an artist that was in a Disney princess book I'd gotten for Christmas. Can't think of the artist name at the moment

It's gorgeous. I wonder, are the fingers specially posed (as in Indian art) to mean something, or just random? I just wondered if the hand poses stand for something.

Reminds me of the Weeki Wachee Mermaids of Florida! Very nice job, great detail in her fins. I like the border too, how the seaweed seems to be growing up using it as support.

Florida's Department of Tourism should buy this. If they don't they're not doing their job. It's simply beautiful and an excellent example of Art Nouveau. Lovely, lovely work. :)

Stunning! Will you be attempting all 50 states or are you just a mermaid fan?

Not all 50 states no, just whatever place wants to buy the image to sell as part of their set. We have pitched it to Florida and I believe Edmonds, Washington so far. I'm not even a huge fan of mermaids but it was a fun design to do for work. :)

Thanks! The fun thing about the tail is that I kept that layer and the hair separate so if the customer wants the colors changed I have about ten different colored tails ready to go! I just liked the orange one the best since it goes nicely against the blue water. :)

The blue does set off the orange nicely. I am fond of working with opposites on the color wheel too. :)

Great idea keeping those layers separate so you can change them later if needed.

I haven't heard of it or been there, but I can ask the boss if the rep travels around there to pitch product. We are based in Seattle so we hire out local representatives to go scope out store locations and present them with our product lines. Thanks for the heads up! ;)

Oooh I love your color scheme. And her tail is so pretty, with the little flecks of green and red.
This might seem like an odd question, but have you ever been to Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida? I feel like if they could afford better advertising they'd want a poster like this.
